Which wedding favours to give at a Moroccan wedding?
In Morocco, nobody leaves a wedding empty-handed. The small gift handed to guests carries the celebration home and says thank you for coming. Here is how to choose yours, how much to plan for your guest list, and how to present it, with the favours we make by hand in our Casablanca workshop.

A tradition that has changed
For a long time, the guest gift at a Moroccan wedding was something sweet: sugared almonds in a little box, a few wrapped pastries. The tradition remains, but couples increasingly choose an object that lasts: a small candle, a fan, a little bottle, often personalised with their names and the date.
The idea is the same: a keepsake of the day. A personalised object simply stays on a shelf long after the party, and brings the couple to mind every time someone sees it.
The same favour works for the different celebrations: the khotba and engagement, the henna night and the wedding itself. Only the date on the label changes.
Our personalised favour ideas
The personalised bubble candle
A small soy wax bubble candle wrapped in a band with your names or initials and the date of your event. It comes plain (13 MAD each) or with lace (14 MAD each). It is the favour our couples choose most: see the personalised bubble candle.
The personalised fan
A fan dressed with lace, a satin ribbon and a flower, with a label bearing your names and date, at 15 MAD each. Practical and welcome in a full room in summer: see the personalised fan.
For the couple's table
The Pack Promesse (210 MAD) brings together five hand-poured ivory candles: two ribbed pillars and three twisted tapers, for the couple's table or the ring ceremony.
All our engagement and wedding ideas are on our wedding favours page.
Which favour for which occasion?
The khotba and engagement
Often a more intimate gathering between the two families. It is the moment for a slightly dressier favour, such as the bubble candle with lace, with your initials and the engagement date. The Pack Promesse also has its place on the table, for the ring ceremony.
The henna night
An evening of singing and dancing, often in a warm room: the personalised fan is both a keepsake and something guests use straight away.
The wedding
The guest list is the longest, and the budget per guest matters more. The plain bubble candle keeps the cost reasonable for several hundred people while staying personalised. For close guests, you can still plan a few pieces with lace.
Whatever the occasion, keep the same style from one evening to the next: same colours, same lettering on the labels. Your guests will connect the celebrations.
What budget per guest?
Our favours are sold by the piece, so you order exactly the number you need. Here is the budget by guest count, worked out from our current prices:
| Guests | Bubble candle | Bubble candle with lace | Fan |
|---|---|---|---|
| 50 | 650 MAD | 700 MAD | 750 MAD |
| 100 | 1,300 MAD | 1,400 MAD | 1,500 MAD |
| 200 | 2,600 MAD | 2,800 MAD | 3,000 MAD |
| 300 | 3,900 MAD | 4,200 MAD | 4,500 MAD |
The minimum order is 70 MAD, that is 6 bubble candles. Delivery is free from 450 MAD, from 35 bubble candles: for a wedding, it is almost always free. Otherwise it costs 25 to 45 MAD depending on the city.
Quantities and timing: order ahead
- Start from your guest list and add a few pieces for last-minute guests and close family.
- If you also give favours at the engagement or henna night, count each evening separately: the dates on the labels differ.
- Each piece is made and personalised by hand, so order well before the date, especially for a large quantity.
- For several hundred pieces or a special request (colour, ribbon, wording), contact us before ordering so we can agree on a date together.
Once ready, the order is delivered in 2 to 3 days anywhere in Morocco, and you pay on delivery.
Presentation on the day
- On each plate or place setting: everyone finds their gift as they sit down.
- On a large tray or in a basket by the door, offered to guests as they leave.
- With a short thank-you note, or a "Thank you for coming" sign beside them.
Think about decoration too: candles on the tables and for photos give the room a soft light. Our table decoration page and our handmade candles can complete the look.
